We humans can surrender to fantasies so easily; we need the absolute Truth of Jesus

Integrity Connection
Moral Connection – Part 3

Scripture Reading: Matthew 5:27-30

Key Verse: Matthew 5:28

But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Are you living in the light of truth—God’s truth? We humans can surrender to fantasies so easily. It is hard to face the facts of our lives, but if we don’t we can never fix the secret problems of our lives. This is why Jesus set the standard of morality so high; He wants us to live in truth. It will set us free!

Lust is all about fantasy, imagining that which you do not have. Lust takes away from the energy of your life, putting it into the cravings of your flesh. We hear stories on the news of people doing the unimaginable; how did they get to that point? One of the factors is they lived in the fantasies too long and lost the realities of this life. Getting caught and spending time in prison is often the shock that awakens them from their fantasies.

Start destroying your fantasies by naming them for what they are: lies! They are not going to satisfy you in the long run. Your fantasies will leave you empty and shame-filled; you’ve experienced that, right? Once we name them as lies, we start the journey to free ourselves from them. If they have a stronghold on you, you may need help. Get it! Don’t allow pride to keep you saying, “I can do this on my own” and yet you never get the job done. Call for counseling or show up at Celebrate Recovery, showing God and others that you mean business. You are going to live in God’s truth!

Father, thank you for the freedom you offer to us who will receive Jesus and walk in His truth. Grant me courage today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
