Teach others with your words and your life

Hang On by Teaching About God
Teaching Everything Godly

Scripture Reading: John 14:15-24

Key Verses: Matthew 28:19-20
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

To hold tightly to the greatest commandments, we must teach what Jesus commanded. Obedience and love are inseparable in God’s design.

To love God fully means obeying Him completely:

“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me.” (John 14:21)

This truth highlights the significance of Jesus’s Great Commission. “Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” is not optional — it is central. If love and obedience are two sides of the same coin, then teaching those commands is how we help others love God well.

Teaching occurs in two ways. The first is through verbal instruction. God equips pastors, teachers, and lay leaders to declare and clarify His truth. Through sermons, lessons, and conversations, believers learn what God commands and why it is important.

But the second way we teach is just as powerful: by example. Every believer demonstrates their faith through daily actions. Whether intentional or not, our choices, responses, and relationships reveal what it means to follow Christ. Even in our weaknesses, we reveal the grace that restores. When we confess, forgive, persevere, and serve, others see a living faith.

Father, please remind me that my life serves as a lesson to those around me. Let my words and actions reflect Your truth, and may everyone nearby clearly see what it means to follow You. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
