The Bible is our best weapon against worry

Don’t Worry, Be Happy
Bold and Stouthearted

Scripture Reading: Psalm 138

Key Verse: Psalm 138:3

When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.

We have been talking this week about worry and how to reduce it in our lives.  However, we must realize that the temptation to worry will never go away.  The evil one knows that the most effective way to rob us of our joy in the Lord is worry.  As we face problems, our initial response will be to worry.  It is at this first response that we must take intentional action or we will allow worry to take root in us.

The Bible is our best weapon against worry.  As we read it daily, God will speak into the challenges of our lives.  Our scripture for today is an example of God’s voice into my life.  Psalm 138:3 jumped off the page to encourage me.  As I was facing some major challenges, God spoke to me through this verse and gave me two promises.  First, God reminded me that when I pray, He answers; not sometimes—all the time.  God immediately answers all our prayers with one of three possible answers: yes, no, or wait.  God doesn’t need time to think about it; He answers us with the best answer.  So thank Him for His answer after you pray!

The second promise was that He would make me bold and stouthearted.  In other words, all my problems were not going away.  God’s promise was to put in me the boldness and strength to handle the problems!  Seek God’s voice in your challenges by reading the Bible!

Father, I am so grateful for your promises in the Bible.  I know you always stand by your Word!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
