If we sow seeds of the flesh, we will reap bad produce

Diseased Fruit Trees
Reaping – Part 1

Scripture Reading: Galatians 6:7-8

Key Verse: Galatians 6:7

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

When a farmer comes to the season that he reaps what he has sown, he wants good fruit. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we will reap what we have sown, thus it’s important that we sow good seed. If we sow seeds of the flesh, we will reap bad produce; relationships are hurt and our witness is damaged.

Take note of the apostle’s warning, “God cannot be mocked” (Galatians 6:7). We can’t deceive God, even if we deceive ourselves and others. When we allow the fruits of the flesh to rule over the fruits of the Spirit, the fruit is diseased. Think of the churches that have had such division that they split apart; their fruit is diseased. Think of the Christian couples that end up in divorce court; their fruit was diseased. Think of the Christians you’ve known that fell into deep sin and separated themselves from the church; their fruit was diseased.

God is not mocked, when secret sins are present, it will come out eventually. The Bible makes a promise: “But if you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). God is not mocked, when a Christian continually hides a sin and continues in that sin, it will come out to those around them. Diseased fruit soon makes an appearance!

Father, with your help, I will live authentically and with integrity. Help me to always have healthy fruit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
