Five Godly Men and the Lies They Believed

Don’t let the devil diminish your self-worth; you are God’s prized creation!

God Wouldn’t Use Me
Eternity in Me

Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 3:9-15

Key Verse: Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

God gave Solomon, the son of King David, the greatest wisdom of any man. His writings in Proverbs are better known than this little book of Ecclesiastes. This little book has some profound teachings, one of which we are looking at today. Solomon writes: God “has set eternity in the hearts of men.” In other words, God created us to believe in, look for and live for something beyond this earthly existence! I realize that some have so hardened their hearts that they don’t believe in eternal living, but that really is rare!

God chose mankind, above all other creatures of His creation, to live into eternity! God wanted each of us to live with Him in eternity so much that He sent His Son Jesus, to die for our sins, to make it possible! As Solomon wrote, we cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Everything God has done is beautiful in its time! God makes no mistakes, no blunders, no lost causes! You are unbelievably valuable to God. He has placed eternity in your heart, driving you to live for more than the present.

If anyone believes the lie that God wouldn’t use them, they have not learned, or have forgotten, all that God has done to make them “usable!” God works day and night to make you into a vessel for His use. Of course He longs to use that which He has made! The potter doesn’t throw away or waste his most prized creation. Don’t let the devil diminish your self-worth. You are God’s prized creation!

Father, I don’t feel like a prized possession of yours, but I’m going to claim it by faith and rejoice in the way you plan to use me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
