Homes would ALL be safe for children if WWJD was asked and answered

Safety Check
Travel Safe – Part 2

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:1-7

Key Verse: Ephesians 5:15

Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise

Let’s continue to look at the keys to creating a safe environment in our homes.  The Apostle Paul starts off with: Be imitators of God.  That is a big statement.  Yet, with God’s Spirit in us to guide us, it is obtainable.  We can imitate or behave as we feel God would.  Someone came up with and produced wristbands with WWJD printed on them.  The letters ask a question that, if we would ask it, we would probably know the answer to: “What would Jesus do?”  The homes in America would all be safe for all children if that question was asked and answered!

As you take this life trip with your loved ones, are there some things that are happening in your home that you know don’t look like a “God thing”?  That may be a pointed question, but it’s not a tough one.  You know when you are behaving in a way that would grieve God’s heart.  You know when you are saying things that you are ashamed of later!  The good news for Christ followers is that you have the Holy Spirit living in you to help you!  The first thing the Holy Spirit will do is convict you of the poor behavior.  In other words, He won’t allow us to live in denial.  He will keep pricking our conscience until we admit our need to deal with the poor behaviors that are creating safety issues in our homes!

Father, I invite you, Holy Spirit, to examine my life and correct me!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
