Everything is Worthless – Part 2

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

In verse nine of our suggested scripture reading for yesterday and today, we see these words: “…become one with Him” (Philippians 3:9). This phrase describes the reason we give God our lives—we are allowed to become one with Christ. The Spirit of Christ Jesus lives in us, giving us the very mind of God. It is unfortunate that many believers do not understand nor live out that blessing. To live in the Spirit is more challenging than to cave to the cravings of the flesh. Far too many believers allow their flesh to lead them rather than the Spirit that lives in them.

If you are a believer, you have the privileges of an heir to the royal family of God. Why not decide today to live out your life as a child of the Most High God! Stay conscious of the Spirit throughout your day; whisper prayers to Him. Tell God often that you want His guidance and His will for everything in your life. In prayer, surrender everything to Him: your life’s work, your marriage, your children, your possessions—let Him have it all! He is your Father and wants nothing but the best for you. He will never harm you, but rather He will guide you into an abundant life. It will seem hard at times, but rest on His promises when difficult times come.

Father, I am not my own. I am yours. Use me for your glory! In Jesus’ name, amen.
