God Is
I Am – Part 3

Scripture Reading: John 8:53-59

“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

The Bible is not to be looked at as a history book, though we can read much history in it. The Bible should not be read in order to get a complete understanding of God; God is too big to ever fit into our finite minds! The Bible is the story of God stepping into the history of man, redeeming mankind through the work of Jesus Christ. The Bible has everything we need pertaining to our salvation!

Genesis does not explain the origins of God but rather the origins of mankind. We will never know the infinite wisdom and power of God completely, nor can we wrap our minds around God’s timeless world. The Bible is clear: “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). “God is,” for us believers, is all we need to know. It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Do you believe that God exists? You will not have all your questions about God answered, but you can choose to believe that God exists! This is the first step in developing a personal relationship with this amazing God. The second step is to sincerely seek Him. If you do, God will reveal Himself to you. “Seeking” means daily prayers, reading a few Bible verses each day and attending a Bible believing church weekly. If you do these three things, sincerely, you will soon know God personally.
