The Bible has transformed me and that’s evidence enough for me.

Why Believe the Bible?
It Really Works

Scripture Reading:  1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Key Verse:  1 Corinthians 2:4

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power

We have been looking at the human evidences that the Bible is trustworthy.  It is good to see these facts, especially for those who have no faith or those who are weak in their faith.  But the truth is, the most powerful evidence is the fact that the scriptures work in real life!  I can testify, along with millions of other believers, that God’s recorded promises are far more than words in a leather bound book.  The Bible gives me daily advice to make my life work.  The Bible promises have saved my marriage.  The truths in the Bible have corrected my lifestyle and helped make my finances stretch to meet my bills.

The Apostle Paul said to the Corinthians that his preaching was not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.  If a fresh power is helping you live a better life, do you really need more evidence that the Bible is trustworthy?  Can you admit that your own wisdom has messed up your life, and isn’t that true for most of us?  When we decide to read and follow the Bible and its wisdom, we see a dramatic difference in outcome!

To be honest with you, I have not been a big student of all the scientific and archaeological evidences to support the Bible.  I had to look them up to write these devotionals.  I’ve never needed them, personally.  The Bible has transformed me and that’s evidence enough for me.

Father, thank you for delivering eternal truth that is real and practical—that works!  I praise you for changing me.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
