Who Are You? – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Galatians 1:1-2
Key Verse: Galatians 1:1
This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.
Continuing from yesterday’s devotional, there is a second lesson we get as we see Galatians 1:1 as a model for our lives: I must do my best to represent Jesus Christ well today. If I’m sent by Jesus, He believes in me and knows that by His strength I can live a life worthy of the calling He has given me. I leave the house with great purpose and confidence that I am a representative of the King of kings! What a wonderful privilege every believer has—every single day—to go into our daily activities being sent by Jesus. He wants you to represent Him to everyone you meet; treat everyone like you think Jesus would!
Be careful not to look at your job as created by happen-stance, some connection made by you or anyone else. No, the truth is God is working in you and went before you, giving you your job. He wants you to make a difference right where you are. Don’t allow the devil to give you “destination disease”: always thinking about where you think you want to go someday. Live in the moment; work your job as unto the Lord. Live well today; love people—even those who don’t make it easy. God has sent you—He is watching. God cares about how you live today because you can make a real difference in the people around you by the way you represent Jesus!
Father, remind me throughout this day that I’m representing you! In Jesus’ name, amen.
