Delight in Being with Him
The Source of Delight – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Numbers 6:22-27
Key Verse: Numbers 6:22-23
The Lord said to Moses, 23 “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites.
If we are going to truly delight in our prayer time, we must make sure we see God as He truly is! In your mind, what does God want to do for you today? Even before you pray and seek His face, what is God’s heart toward you? Your answer will determine your level of delight when you pray.
The Old Testament Prophet Jeremiah wrote: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Can you trust that God has plans for you today that only include a blessing for you? God is not planning any harm to you. He wants to prosper you in ways the world knows little about! When God says He wants to bless His people, His people ought to delight in being in His presence.
I hope this week’s devotionals will create a longing in your heart for being alone with God. I hope you will be able to see your prayer time for what it is: A cherished child spending time with their heavenly Father who is full of compassion and generous blessing. I realize that our enemy, the father of lies, will continue to try to mask what prayer is and try to make it a dreaded discipline. Resist the devil and his lies! Remind yourself often, “I don’t have to pray. I get to pray!”
Father, you are so good to me. Thank you for blessings upon blessings on my life. I will run to my time with you! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
