I Know I Will See the Savior!
Eternal Glory
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
If you were able to read the additional scripture reading, you were reminded that God will raise us from our physical death. These bodies were not made to last for eternity; they wear out and finally give out. The Apostle Paul writes that though the outward body gives out and succumbs to death, our eternal soul will live on forever. God has a new body for us, for the new earth that He is preparing for us. The apostles and more than 500 eye witnesses testified to God’s power to raise Jesus from the grave. That same power will raise us as well.
Our scripture for today encourages us with this hope. We need not lose heart as we experience the daily troubles. Compared to the eternal glory God has prepared for us, all our troubles piled together look “light and momentary.” God’s reward for our faithfulness “far outweighs” the present frustrations of living in this world. Life has its hurts and suffering, but in the light of eternity it’s only for a moment!
The devil’s greatest ploy is to get our eyes fixed on these present troubles. He blinds us to their temporary state. The evil one loves to suggest doubts and feelings that make today’s problems seem too much to handle, but this is just one more lie we must expose. Our Father in heaven filters all our troubles and will not allow anything beyond what we can handle!
Father, thank you for seeing me! Thank you for knowing my battles. I trust your loving kindness and believe in your judgments! In Jesus’ name, amen.
