Encouragement as we begin Judgement House 2010 at The Naz.

Do Not Grow Weary

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

“’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the LORD.  ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.’” – Isaiah 55:7-9

Both of these verses speak deeply to me about our Savior and God, and both verses should encourage us as we begin Judgement House 2010 at The Naz.  The first verse tells me that He wants us to keep on walking in the path that He has set before us.  He never promises that the journey will be easy – rather He comforts us with the fact that He will be with us and strengthen us.  And, gloriously, He will allow us to reap a harvest IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP.  How many of us have started an exercise plan (I have) and how many of us have given up before we received results? (I have.)  God asks us to do the thing set before us and leave the results to Him – however, we must follow through and act in order for us to receive from Him.

The second verse reminds me that after we obey the Lord and do the thing set before us with all our might, we must stand back and allow Him to work.  When we see no results, often times He is working mightily.  When we feel spent and tired and think nothing is happening, that is when God often steps in and does a miraculous work.  Many times He works much differently than we think He should.  I think He takes pleasure doing things “His way” so it is abundantly clear that it is Him and not us.  He does want us to do our part, but then He wants us to step away and allow Him to do His part. It is a delicate balance and at times it is easy to forget.

With Judgement House I believe that all God is asking us to do, is to be faithful and to complete our part in the puzzle to the best of our ability.  He wants us to come to Him for strength, guidance, and encouragement and to follow through with the task at hand.  Then He wants us to stand back, lean on Him, and trust Him with the results – His results. We must work hard to be organized, to follow through, and to do our best.  But then we must let go and let Him work on the hearts of those going through the production.  We must trust that the Holy Spirit will convict and open people’s hearts to Him.

Dear Father, Together we lift up our prayer for unity, effectiveness, efficiency, and that many lost people would come to our Lord and Savior through this production.  Help us not grow weary and strengthen us in our efforts.  And may You add many to Your kingdom as we know it is Your will that none should be lost. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen”
