Be assured that real and permanent change is possible;we are God’s workmanship

Change is Not Possible?
God’s Workmanship – Part 1

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Key Verse: Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Can you believe a person can truly change?  This is the question for this week.  Government programs of addiction rehab in our prison system don’t give us hope for real and permanent change.  Their own statistics give a dismal percentage of success stories.  Our hope for change cannot be found in government programs.

The good news is: The rate of success in Christ centered programs is unbelievable—literally.  People can’t believe the statistics that come from Christ centered programs until they go check it out themselves.  A local judge in our community came to our church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry to see why so many of the people he met in his court room were finding real help.  The answer is always the same: Our hope is found in Jesus!

Our printed key verse for today and tomorrow speaks of the fact that believers are in a “workshop” of sorts.  Once we trust Jesus Christ with our lives He begins a good work on and in us!  The Bible tells us that God will carry on this work to completion (Philippians 1:6).  We can be assured that real and permanent change is possible because we are God’s workmanship.  If God is in charge of the change that is needed, we can rest assured He will do the right work!  (Continued)

Father, I freely submit to your work in me.  I look forward to the coming days as you complete your work in me.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
