The evil one wants us to buy in and live life according to his version

The Feast
Glorious Inheritance – Part 2

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:15-20

Key Verse: Ephesians 1:18

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints

As we continue our study from yesterday’s devotional, I want us to understand how important it is to pray the Apostle Paul’s prayer.  Paul wants the Ephesians to have a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in order to see beyond the present.  This life can get very discouraging!  If we lose sight of our glorious inheritance, we may cave to the negative influences of the evil one!  The devil wants to blind us to all that God is preparing for us!  He is a highly productive factory of lies.  The evil one wants us to buy in and live life according to his version.

This prayer in Ephesians is that the “eyes of your heart may be enlightened” (vs. 18).  How critical is that as you face another day in the trenches of this world?  We need to see God’s hope with 20/20 spiritual vision!  We have reasons to be encouraged, joy-filled, and energized!  This world is not our home; we are just passing through.  We are heading toward a “glorious inheritance.”

Join me in praying this prayer often!  It will open your mind and heart to the vision that is real and true.  It will help us defeat the devil’s lies.  We have been invited to an eternal feast; a celebration that will be beyond anything we could ever imagine in this life.  God knows how to throw a party!

Father, I’m going to live with the eyes of my heart wide open today!  I’m going to rest and rejoice in the thoughts of my glorious inheritance.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
