The Bible paints the picture clearly, God eventually rights all wrongs!

How to Be Blessed By God
Trust…Do Good

Scripture: Psalm 37:3-4

Trust in the Lord and do good;

dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the Lord

and he will give you the desires of your heart.

          When the Psalmist David wrote Psalm 37, he wrote one of the greatest loved Psalms in the book.  We have been talking about trust for the last five days and I thought it would be good to wrap up October’s devotionals with thoughts from Psalm 37.

The first verse challenges us not to “fret” over evil men nor to be envious of them.  Whether it’s evil men or, simply, evil events – it is easy to fret over it.  David tells us that the antidote to fretting is trusting.  The results of trusting will be a continued good lifestyle and dwelling safely in the “pastures” God provides for us (Psalm 37:3).

It is also easy to feel envious of those who “seem” to be getting along so well without regard to God and His commands.  They seem to be happy and enjoying the fruits of their labor.  On the other hand, doesn’t it seem like the more we try to please God, the tougher life gets?  This Psalm reminds us not to fret over those around us who ignore God and His principles of life.  They are like “grass that will soon wither” (Psalm 37:2).  I usually try to say, out loud, when I see their wealth and material blessings, “Well, enjoy it now while you can.  Judgment day is coming!”  The Bible tries to paint the picture clearly.  God rights all wrongs!

Today let’s “delight ourselves in the Lord” as David tells us.  Thank God that you are a “Kingdom person who has seen the Light.”  This world is not our final destination.  We rejoice in our future blessings!

“Father, forgive me for envying those of this world.  You have blessed me with many spiritual blessings and I am grateful!  I ask this all in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
