Life Without George and You
God is Mindful of You
Scripture Reading: Psalm 8:1-9
Key Verse: Psalm 8:5
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
The Psalmist David asked the question: What is man that God is mindful of him? (Psalm 8:4). In the classic movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” George could not believe life was worth living when everything seemed so wrong in his life. The Bible wants to remind us that our life is very important and should never be defined by the blunders we make or the problems that we face.
Our key verse for today tells us that we were made a little lower than heavenly beings and we were crowned with glory and honor. That is God’s opinion of us. Don’t ever forget that! Our self-worth is too often formed by the opinions of people around us. When that is the case, we can be in big trouble when it comes to our worth. Those around us don’t know our hearts or see our intentions clearly! Nor can people judge our actions correctly since they have no clue of all the past history and detailed experiences that go into our lives. God does see our hearts; our intentions; He understands every decision we make and where it came from. God is able to look beyond our failures and love us for who we really are! It is God that has said we are the “apple of His eye.”
Yes, God is, indeed, mindful of you. What a great God we have—full of love and compassion. Life would not be the same without you! You matter. You can have great impact on people around you. Open your heart to God and His plan for your life!
Father, I am yours; you are mine! Complete your plans and purposes in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
