God's Lifetime Warranties

Your faith is strong when you believe that a “no” answer from God is just as good as a “yes”

God’s Lifetime Warranties
You Will Never Have a Need – Part II

Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:10-20

Key Verse: Philippians 4:19 NLT
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Yesterday’s devotional was about our first “lifetime warranty” from God: He will meet all your needs.

Many Christ-followers claim this promise but do not get joy and peace from it. The problem is that we do not have a good understanding of our needs. It might sound incorrect that we do not know what our own needs are, but sometimes the way to satisfy a real need is unclear or we confuse a need with a desire.

Like me, I am sure that you have made a decision or a purchase believing that it was exactly what you needed only to find out that it did not meet your need at all. Sometimes we go back and make another decision or make another purchase. We are convinced that this time it will meet the need, but “nope” … wrong again! Let’s be honest, sometimes we think we know what we need but are often mistaken.

For us Christ-followers, the good news is that we serve a God who is all wise in all things. God knows exactly what we need and what will be good for us now and in our future.

If only we could learn to completely trust Him the way that He deserves. You know that you trust Him the way He deserves when, after you make a request, you at once thank Him for His answer even though you have no idea what His answer will be.

The Apostle Paul puts it this way:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)

Please note that in the same sentence that Paul tells us to tell God what we need, we are to thank Him for all He has done.

In other words, true faith has joy and peace built into it. When we know that God, who is all wise and all knowing, gives us exactly what we really need, we never worry about a “no” answer. Strong faith convinces us that a “no” answer is just as good as a “yes” answer.

Sure, we can be disappointed. But our faith should quickly do away with any disappointment replacing it by praying: “Thanks Father, I know you would give it to me if it was good for me and it was what I really needed”.

We have a “lifetime warranty” that we will never have a true need that goes unmet!

Father, I receive and believe in Your awesome love and wisdom. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
