Is Money Bugging You?
Treasures on Earth – Part 4
Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:19-21
Key Verse: Matthew 6:19
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
If money is bugging you, more than likely you are not following the Bible’s instructions on how to handle earthly treasures. Let’s review the instructions that lead to good management over our earthly wealth and lead to eternal wealth.
First, determine where you heart is; do you love God and His kingdom more than anything else in the world? Second, be honest about who or what is calling the shots in your life: God or money. Third, are you convinced that your Father in heaven will take care of you and all your earthly needs?
Finally, are you seeking God and His kingdom as a first priority in your life? In other words, if you know that God wants you to do something, will you do it? And if you know He wants you to stop doing something, will you stop?
Once you get these things straight, your money will take its proper place in your life automatically. Money will be your servant, directed by your godly values. It will lose its power to cause worry and harmful habits in your life. You can rest in God’s ability to provide all you need and you can rejoice. He loves to give good gifts to His children!
Father, I refuse to let money bug me. I will rest and rejoice in your care. In Jesus’ name, amen.
