Convert – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Matthew 4:17-22
Key Verse: Matthew 4:17
From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
[dropcap]When[/dropcap] we consider the landscape of Christmas, the manger takes center stage. Don’t miss how amazing that is—a simple, crude wood structure, designed to hold hay for animals to eat from is now center stage of the advent of Jesus. This was truly a transformation of epic proportion. However, it doesn’t even compare to the transformation that Jesus causes in a human being who is a convert to the kingdom of God.
A true convert is a person who once lived totally sold out to the principles of this worldly kingdom, but now is re-thinking their entire way of doing life. The Apostle Paul is a prime example; he believed destroying Christ followers was accomplishing his life purpose, but converted to a sold-out follower of Jesus Himself. Paul’s thinking was changed forever and his life turned to the kingdom of heaven with all its eternal principles.
Are you a convert? Have you had a change of mind? Do you now believe that Jesus not only is a Savior but He is worthy to be followed? Do you read and study the teachings of Jesus in order to follow him correctly? Do you truly believe, enough to change your behavior, that you are wrong and He is right in every single area of your life? If you answered yes to all these questions, you are truly a convert.
Father, I say yes to You and no to all ungodliness. In Jesus’s name, amen.
