Thanksgiving for the Kingdom of God

Talk yourself out of worry and fear because these negative emotions do not fit God’s Kingdom people!

Thanksgiving for the Kingdom of God
The Power of God’s Kingdom

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT
For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.

Today’s devotional reminds us that God’s Kingdom is not just a lot of talk. Our faith in God is real to us but may not seem real to those around us who do not have Jesus in their lives.

We all need reminding that we became followers of God because of the power of God to draw us to Himself. We felt that power and started seeking Him, and this promise of God became true in us:

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

Look again at how our Key Verse describes the Kingdom of God: “It is living by God’s power.”

We need not fear or worry that God will not reveal the Kingdom to others as we pray for them and share our lives with them. God loved all the sinners of the world; we must never forget that simple truth! (John 3:16).

Here is what God wants for all people in the world:

The Lord isn’t being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent. (2 Peter 3:9 NLT)

When we pray for our unsaved loved ones or friends, we should always remind ourselves that God loves them and wants them to live with Him forever! We know that God will not force them to repent, but He can bring the forces of Heaven to draw them to Himself. Pray for God to do just that for every unbeliever that you know.

Take a moment and think about your circumstances when you turned to God. Those circumstances were not just happenchance, they were the power of God’s Kingdom at work in you.

The Kingdom is not just a lot of talk, it is alive by the power of God. This same power is alive in every believer throughout their life here on earth, ready to help us through every problem or danger.

Ephesians 1:19a is a good prayer to pray for ourselves and others:

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him.

The light of God’s Kingdom does more than just reveal; it impacts, convicts, and convinces with its power. Let’s live life with this confidence, that we are people of the Kingdom of God, and His Kingdom lives by the power of God Himself.

Talk yourself out of worry and fear, these negative emotions do not fit God’s Kingdom people!

Father, please remind me often of the power of Your Kingdom that is available to me. I am forever grateful to be a part of Your eternal Kingdom. In Jesus’s Name I pray, amen.
