Fear of Failure
What If I Fail – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Numbers 13:25-33
Key Verse: Numbers 13:31
But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”
Most people, at the close of their careers, regret that they allowed fear to stop them from going for many opportunities during their careers. It is a lie of the evil one to think failure is the worst experience we can endure. A much worse experience is to live safe and empty lives, missing an adventure God had for us!
The story we read in Numbers 13 is a prime example of a “God adventure missed.” God’s people had dreamed of the Promised Land all their lives. While in slavery to Egypt, they probably sang songs about the Promised Land. However, when they looked at the challenges that were included in living in the Promised Land, they succumbed to fear. God would have certainly helped them overcome every challenge they would have faced, but they didn’t give Him a chance to prove His faithfulness!
Every decision, of any significance, we have will undoubtedly include appealing benefits and doubting challenges. Once we are convinced it’s a “God opportunity,” we will need to trust that where He guides He also provides all we need. It is always a faith walk when we take the adventure of God in this life. Will you determine to take the journey and trust God for the challenges?
Father, I am weak but you are strong. May I walk in faith today and enjoy the journey. In Jesus’s name, amen.
