When Fear Comes Knocking
Challenging Fear – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:8-13
Key Verse: Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Continuing our study of God’s Word through the Prophet Isaiah, we see a third reason that we need not fear: God will strengthen us. And, as the Apostle Paul wrote, “If God is for us, who can stand against us?” (Romans 8:31). The Prophet Isaiah knew that if God’s people lost track of this promise, fear would paralyze them.
It is essential that you never lose sight of God’s promise to bring His mighty strength to help you! Anytime fear starts to take up residence in your heart, you must quote this scripture if you are going to send fear on its way. The God of this universe wants you to feel secure in Him. When we allow fear to overwhelm us, it is an insult to the strength that is promised to us by our Father in heaven! Challenge your feelings of fear; don’t cave to them; don’t get comfortable having them in your life. Don’t listen to the lie that fear is just an inevitable fact that people must live with. Yes, everyone is tempted by fear, but we can overcome this temptation, as we can all temptations!
God has you in His hand; listen to the way Isaiah said it: “I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Your life may not turn out the way you imagined it, but it can turn out the way God planned it as you walk in His ways! Relax in His righteous hand!
Father, you are so good—and strong. I choose to rest in your care and enjoy the peace that brings. In Jesus’s name, amen.
