Jesus Radiates God – Part II

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1:1-7

Key Verse: Hebrews 1:3a

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God…

As we are all painfully aware, mankind has a sin problem. Since we are made in God’s image, there is a part of us that wants to be good. But our problem is that we cannot be free of sinful thoughts and sinful behaviors without some divine help.

In the first chapter of the Book of Hebrews, we read that Jesus’s main mission was to cleanse us from our sin (Hebrews 1:3b).

Our world seldom speaks of mankind’s sin problems. No matter how much the world wants to avoid the discussion of sin, it is sin that must be dealt with before any real healthy living can be enjoyed.

There is much talk about psychological issues and ideas to fix those problems. However psychological help will not fix our sin problem.

God understood that the only solution to mankind’s sin problem was to send His only Son. Sin is about man offending God and thus separating man from God.

The plan of Salvation is about a sinner admitting that he needs help and trusting in God’s solution, which is found in Jesus.

Once Jesus had died on the Cross and had been raise back to life after three days, the solution for sin was in place.

I do not think it is an accident that John 3:16 is the most well know Bible verse in the world: “For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”.

The blanket solution for the whole world, when it comes to our sin problem, is to believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive our sin and guide our lives.

The evil one captured the souls of mankind, and Jesus came to redeem (buy back) these souls so they could live with God into eternity.

The only reason that every single person who was born on this earth is not redeemed by God is that everyone has free moral choice. God did not want to make us like robots that could not decide our own futures.

God wants an authentic relationship with people. That is not possible unless every person has the ability to reject or accept that relationship.

Yes, God loves everybody and wants everybody to accept His Son, Jesus. But He chooses not to force anyone to make that decision.

I hope you can grasp how much God loves you and wants you. Will you accept Jesus?

Father, I know I am not worthy of your love, but I accept it and ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins. I asked this in Jesus’s Name, amen.
