Good communication starts by having a divine transformation in Christ

Look Who’s Talking – Part 2

Scripture Reading: Matthew 12:33-37

Key Verse: Matthew 12:35

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

In Matthew 12:35 Jesus tells us: “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him.” Jesus is referring to the inner character of a person. He is reminding us that when we are good on the inside, our words will reflect that as we communicate to those around us. Jesus came to help us become the good people we all want to be—but can’t be on our own!

When we accept the plan of salvation that God brought to us, we ask Jesus into our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins. This starts the transformation process in our inner lives. The Apostle Paul described it as “the old has gone and the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). In other words, God’s plan is making us good. Becoming a Christ follower—being part of God’s family—happens in that moment of faith! As we continue walking with Christ, we start to develop good habits that replace the bad ones.

Good communication that comes out of the mouth of any individual starts by that individual having this divine transformation in Christ. As we grow in our faith, we will realize that selfishness is diminishing, and love is growing. This will show up in the way we talk to others, especially in our homes! (Continued)

Father, I seek you and the inner transformation of my life. I will talk to others with your love flowing through me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
