Our Freedom of Choice!

It takes courage to trust God’s plan as it unfolds, but great courage leads to great blessings from God!

What is in God’s Case?
Plans to Prosper

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 29:10-14

Key Verse: Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

On this television show, “Deal or No Deal,” there are brief cases with numbers on the outside of them for the contestant to choose. Their first choice is the case they claim as theirs. They can keep it or sell it at any point in the game. The contestant’s challenge is that they do not know what is in the case they chose. It’s a guess; a blind pick.

When we choose to go with God, there are a lot of unknowns, but the Bible does give us some things we can count on when it comes to choosing God. The Prophet Jeremiah spoke to Israel, under the inspiration of God, and let them know one fact they could count on: God has plans for our life, plans to prosper us, which include hope and an eternal future!

First, please note that choosing the case with God’s name on it means God has plans for you. We are not a big mass of humanity in God’s eyes. He is God; therefore, He can see us individually! Our creator made us with a specific purpose in mind. The number of hairs on our head and the number of days we will live is all known to God. Not one minute of our day is wasted in God’s plans. Everything works together to accomplish His purposes for and in us!

Second, take note that these plans are to prosper us. This is not a one-dimensional prosperity. God’s plans look at the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels of our lives and works through them all as He prospers us. It takes courage to trust God’s plan as it unfolds.

Father, life presents so many options. Help me to choose you and your plans. Help my unbelief when I waiver. Keep me strong when I’m weak. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
