Praise Him in My Obedience
Measured Testing – Part 2
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:11-17
Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
As we continue our theme of praising God in our obedience, we find assurances in our key verse for yesterday and today. We are assured that God knows us better than we know ourselves! He knows our background and spiritual growth levels. He understands all our strengths and weaknesses. God never misses the facts of our human tendencies, which are different for each of us!
Then, God takes all this wonderful knowledge of each of us and matches our tests perfectly to our levels. Be assured, after you have Jesus in you, you never “have to” fail! We never need worry about the devil and all his imps overcoming us. As 1 John 4:4 reminds us: “Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”
In the last few years we’ve heard the phrase: “It’s too big to fail.” This was referring to companies that if we allowed them to fail it would be catastrophic to our economy. The biblical promise, similar to this phrase is: “God, in you, is too big to fail.” There is no sin bigger or stronger than God’s grace. We don’t have to sin. The Apostle Paul addressed this in Romans 6:15 when he wrote: “What then? Shall we sin…God forbid.” Let’s praise God in our obedience today—because we can!
Father, I start my day with peace and assurance that I am strong enough for whatever comes my way because of you living in me! In Jesus’ name, amen.
