It Affects Eternity
The Final Judgment – Part 1
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:31-33
Key Verse: Matthew 25:31
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
In today’s scripture we read about the final judgment of how we did life on earth. God is watching every single one of us. In Proverbs 5:21 this is clearly stated: “For man’s ways are in full view of the Lord and He examines all his paths.” This is the reason God can judge all of us in total fairness: He has witnessed it all!
This passage starts with the first thing that happens to start the process: The Son of man comes in His glory. Jesus is coming again. His first coming created the division of time as we know it: AD and BC. His second coming will divide the period of grace from the period of judgment. We are currently living in this wonderful period of grace. Every single person can come to the “Living Water” and drink. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT).
When Jesus comes the second time, he will not come as the baby in Bethlehem, but as the ruling king who sits upon His throne. The grace period will have come to a close and judgment will begin. The Apostle Peter wrote: “But they will have to give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead” (1 Peter 4:5).
It is during our grace period that we should prepare for the judgment period, if we are wise. (Continued)
Father, I know you are watching everything I do and listening to everything I say today. May I glorify you in both areas. In Jesus’ name, amen.
