His Spirit within us makes us want to be a significant “player” in His kingdom

The Most Practical Way
Practical is Impactful – Part 2

Scripture Reading:  Matthew 5:13-16

Key Verse: Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

When we receive Jesus Christ into our lives, He puts a Spirit within us that makes us want to be a significant “player” in His kingdom.  His kingdom becomes a real value to us; we want it to grow, seeing others jump in and trust Jesus for their lives as we have done.  In my 36 years as a pastor, I have never found any true believers that did not have this desire, but most of us believers struggle to find ways to have that impact on other people.  We want to influence sinful people to become Christ followers, but we feel lost in how to do it.

Let me encourage you to memorize the title of these last couple of devotionals: Practical is Impactful.  That phrase means that when we do a practical good deed for someone, it will be impactful for God’s kingdom.  The Bible is clear: The smallest helpful deed can make a huge impact.  Listen to Jesus’ own words: “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward” (Matthew 5:16).  Practical is impactful!

If you want to impact someone for Jesus today, look for ways to make love practical; find a way to help them.  Bless a mom who is struggling with kids or offer to help a co-worker get their work done!  Say it again: Practical is impactful!

Father, please use me today to help draw someone closer to you!  I am willing.  Guide me in your ways!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
