It is God’s love in us that will melt the hardest hearts

The Most Excellent Way
The Greatest of These – Part 1

Scripture Reading:  1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:31

But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

I am sure you would agree that love is the key ingredient in Christianity.  God’s love for us; our love for God, and our love for others are the phrases that summarize all we read in the Bible.  In today’s scripture we read phrases like: “the most excellent way” and “but the greatest of these” which are both referring to love!

Yet, as you think about the church and “church people” would you say that love is the top characteristic you witness in their lives?  Ideally we could answer yes, but realistically, I fear that most of us would say love seems to be missing in the lifestyles of far too many “Christians.”  I’m referring to that consistent and authentic Christ like love that the Bible describes for us, when I speak of love.

In the next few days I want to take a journey that ends with all of us being filled with God’s love that overflows in everything we do!  I want our love to be real—not put on!  I want our love to be consistent—not sporadic or based on our feelings.  I want us to truly understand the love God pours into us that is placed there in order for us to love others as He loves us!  It is this love that will melt the hardest hearts.  (Continued)

Father, help me see your love and grasp it.  Help me to share this love with everyone I connect with around me.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
