Solomon says: “Trust in the Lord”

Scripture:  Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.

Introduction:  Reading God’s Word should bring     change      to our lives.

Commit to      action      .

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the Word and deceive yourselves.

       Do what it says       !

I.   “Trust in the Lord”

It is instruction for       Christ followers         on how to        live daily       .

The most obvious reason to not trust is:       I do not know you      .

We must       know         the Lord in order to trust him.

II.  “With all your heart”

Do you want       all       of him?

A. Run to       win        !

B. Have a        strategy       .

C. Remove       distractions       and       temptations       .

D. Make Him your       number one priority        .

III.  “Lean not on your understanding”

Do not rely on       on your own       intelligence      .

We need both a        coach        AND a       game plan       .

James 3:13  “Who is     wise      AND      understanding       among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom.

God’s wisdom and understanding is about       love        and       protection        .

IV. “In all your ways acknowledge him”

In our journey, we need to respect Him enough to be        aware of His presence        and        invite him in to        everything we say and do.

Psalm 91:14-16  Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Conclusion:

Because He loves me…

                                                   .

Because He loves me…

                                                   .
