Series: “CROSSroads”
Today: “Excluders vs. Expanders”
Scripture: Mark 9:38-40 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”
39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Intro: In God’s kingdom it’s not long until we face our human tendency to huddle up and form exclusive clubs .
* The church must be intentional in its efforts to eradicate this phrase: “they’re not one of us” .
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I. ASK GOD TO MAKE YOU AN EXPANDER .
A. Luke 10:2 – “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”
B. Don’t forget to ask the Lord to put you into the __”few”__ group!
II. BELIEVE THE HARVEST IS READY AND PLENTIFUL.
* But people around you are interested in God, eternal life, heaven and hell issues.
III. VISUALIZE “HARVESTED” PEOPLE.
* God takes disgusting people and makes them distinguished Christ-followers .
Conclusion: In our Lifepath booklet, I talk about the boundaries of expansion .
