Schedules of the Incredible Family
Worship Schedule

Scripture Reading:  Hebrews 10:19-24

Key Verse: Hebrews 10:25

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

What would your kids say if asked about their worship patterns or habits?  Some would immediately talk about their teachers and all the routines of going to church.  Some would not have a quick answer because the home has not created a regular schedule of worship.  I want to encourage you to put a pattern of worship in your life and home.

            First, a daily pattern of worship should be in place.  When do you pray with your children?  When do you pray?  What is your schedule for daily spiritual intake for you and your family?  If you have no intentionality in this area you will no doubt be very sporadic in your efforts.  We all fail to keep to our schedules at times, but if there is a schedule, at least we speak of missing it.  However, if we don’t have a schedule, then we simply go about our life procrastinating on the things we say are important to us.

            Secondly, what is your worship pattern as far as gathering with other believers?  Our scripture for today reminds us not to forsake that gathering.  What do you allow to disrupt your family’s church experience?  Our schedules reveal our deepest values, even when we say differently!  What we demand in our schedules proves our true values for ourselves and our families!

Father, forgive me when my actions don’t line up with what I say I believe and value.  I want my worship schedule to prove my true worship of you.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
