Problems will seem “light and momentary compared to our eternal glory

A Loser’s Reward
Our Inheritance – Part 2

Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:1-8

Key Verse: Revelation 21:7

He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Let’s continue to try to visualize our reward for paying the price of discipleship during this life.  We truly can’t understand the grandeur of the reward—we can only imagine.  The scripture gives us hints of its glory.  In yesterday’s and today’s scripture reading we can know that God Himself will walk around with us.  We no longer have to live by faith.  We will have perfect sight of who God is and what He deserves!

Today’s scriptures also remind us that this new earth has no sadness that could cause tears.  Maybe it would help you to remember a moment, hopefully not too long ago, when you experienced a joy-filled moment.  One of those moments when all burdens were forgotten and the world seemed all sunshine.  Of course, those moments don’t last long for us in this life, but on God’s new earth those moments turn into our every day experience.  We will experience sheer joy for eternity.  Every moment of our eternity will feel like our hearts are going to explode with laughter and eternal happiness!

After picturing all this, we can understand why the Apostle Paul wrote that any and all problems now seem “light and momentary…an eternal glory far outweighs them all” (2 Corinthians 4:17).  Be encouraged child of God, your Father will make it all worth it—multiplied 1,000 times.

Father, my heart grows weary of this world and all its perversion!  I look forward to the day that you turn the tables on the wicked!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
