A Loser’s Reward
Our Inheritance – Part 1
Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:1-8
Key Verse: Revelation 21:7
He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
This month has been all about the price for following Christ. Many will look at our lifestyle and consider us “losers.” But, just like the TV show, the biggest losers are really the biggest winners! I hope you were able to take time to read the suggested reading of Revelation 21:1-8. It describes the reward for losing in this world, as far as the worldly way of life. It tells us about our inheritance if we decide to truly follow Jesus’ patterns for living. It is not easy. We will need to be over comers in the truest sense!
Someday, this world, with all of its upside down values, is going to be destroyed. Those who laugh at Christianity will laugh no longer! God is going to start over, making a new heaven and a new earth. In my opinion, since God cannot improve on Himself, the new earth will look like the old earth except for all the problems man created on it. No asphalt or concrete, no hate or evil. No dying or killing; the lion will lay down with the lamb; beautiful green valleys and glorious mountains all around us. This paradise will be our existence forever and forever!
When the Apostle Paul calls this “the riches of our glorious inheritance” (Ephesians 1:18), he understood the reward for faithfulness.
Father, I am so thrilled to know what is in store for me some glorious day! Until then, I will faithfully follow you! In Jesus’ name, amen.
