Nothing is Impossible – Part 2

Key Verse: Luke 1:38
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.
Did you have a chance to read the suggested reading for yesterday’s and today’s devotional study? The Apostle John’s words tie in and apply the truth that Gabriel said to Mary: Nothing is impossible with God. John writes that we should have confidence when approaching God. In other words, when we pray, we should go to our prayer time with a confident anticipation!
When we approach prayer with confidence, it keeps us consistent in our prayer life. Nothing kills a prayer life quicker than lack of confidence in its ability to change things! The Apostle John says that when we approach God, we should believe that He hears us! Doesn’t that encourage you in your prayers? The God of all creation is listening to you! Most of us have had to break appointments over our lifetime. Sometimes those appointments were important but we just could not make it happen. What is more important than your appointment with God? If you keep your appointment, He is waiting and ready to listen!
Then John tells us that if God hears us, we should trust that He will give us His best answer. That is what it means to pray “according to His will.” When we demand things, no matter what God wants, we won’t get the best answer. God makes us this promise: His answer will always be the best one!
Father, I will pray with deep confidence today that you are listening and will give me the best answer possible! In Jesus’ name, amen.
