Fine Tuning to the Voice
Making it Clear – Part 1
Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:12-21
Key Verse: Philippians 3:15
All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
As we wrap up this idea of fine tuning our spiritual ears to His voice, I want to look at God’s assurance to us. In our printed key verse for today, you will read that God has assigned Himself the job of making His voice heard clearly. The Apostle Paul wrote the Philippian Christ followers that if they could not understand an issue, God would make it clear to them. Our Father in heaven wants us to walk in truth and will reveal that truth to us.
Our question is: Why do we struggle to feel this in our lives? Why do we wonder what God’s will is when we are pressed to make decisions? I believe that our questions are good because they slow us down and cause us to seek God’s wisdom. If we never had a question, we would never feel the dependence upon God that He wants. The next time you want God’s guidance but aren’t sure what He is saying to you, continue to seek Him. It is the seeking that keeps us close to Him.
In the midst of our seeking, we need not be filled with worry or fear that we will miss God’s will. He guides His children through various ways, not all of these ways are evident to us. He will get us to the perfect place that He wants each of us. This is God’s job and He does it well. Trust Him! The Good Shepherd goes before us.
Father, I can’t always see your guiding hand, but I will trust it anyway. I know your love and kindness will keep me and guide me to the perfect answers. In Jesus’ name, amen.
