Finding the Power
Fruit
Scripture Reading: Galatians 5:19-26
Key Verse: Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
The result of a drained car battery is dimmed lights and slow starting. Ultimately our cars won’t start at all when the battery is drained too low. One might say these results are the fruits of a low battery.
So it is in our spiritual lives. The fruits of a drained spiritual life are sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and the like! Do you relate to any of these “fruits”?
The Apostle Paul wants us to operate in full capacity in the Spirit. You can know that is happening when these fruits are evident in your life: love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. People who keep their spiritual batteries fully charged enjoy these results in their life! I believe that daily recharging time is necessary. If we need to jumpstart a battery, we must get two cars lined up together in order for the cables to reach the batteries. If we want to power up our spiritual batteries, we must line up with God; close enough to receive His power. Let’s determine to stay close and keep His power flowing in our daily lives! The fruit will be evident of that decision.
Father, I will make time for you in my life. I want to line up my thinking with your wisdom. Strengthen me today! In Jesus’ name, amen.
