A top indicator that your relationship with God is slipping is a critical spirit

Finding the Power
Destroyed

Scripture Reading:  Galatians 5:13-18

Key Verse: Galatians 5:15

If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

The Apostle Paul warned the Galatian Christ followers that they were about to destroy each other.  Obviously Paul was speaking of their spiritual lives.  When there is much bickering, there is much destruction.  Evidently the church in Galatia was experiencing division among the members.  The apostle described it as “biting and devouring,” as the members picked on each other.  This church truly needed a jumpstart to their spiritual journey.

A top indicator that your relationship with God is slipping is a critical spirit.  A fully charged up Christ follower is generous in their acceptance and forgiveness of others.  Check your battery this morning.  Are you getting spiritually drained?  Have you noticed that you have been more unforgiving to others than normal?  Have you realized that you have not been patient with the people around you when they fall short of your expectations?  The truth is: the people around you probably have not changed.  You have!  You have allowed your spiritual battery to drain to dangerously low levels!

If you recognize these signs in your spiritual life, it is time for a jumpstart.  Line yourself up with the power of God’s Word.  Slow down as you read the Bible.  Ask God to reveal truth to you as you read.  Make your prayers honest conversations about your needs before God.

Father, refresh my spirit so that I may walk in your Spirit today.  Fill me with power and wisdom so I may live the abundant life.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
