Disciple All Nations – Part 2
Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:16-20
Key Verse: Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Continuing from yesterday we move on to think about what we can do to offer the Good News to someone else. Since the Life Path has several stages, God may use you at any point as those stages unfold in a person’s life. For example, you may help a person who is still far from God learn some more information that takes them a step closer to embracing Christ. You may never see that person accept Christ, but you played a part in the process. You were a disciple at that point.
There will be others that help people embrace Christ; actually accepting Him as Savior. Still others will teach that person what it means to “walk the walk.” This disciple will take that new believer and explain more fully the scriptures and the lifestyle that is worthy of Christ. This is what Aquila and Priscilla did in Acts 18 when they invited Apollos over to their home and “explained to him the way of God more adequately” (verse 26). This kind of teaching will include the last two stages of the Life Path: contribute and expand. New believers will learn to contribute their gifts to God’s kingdom. They will be told how important it is to help expand the kingdom by influencing others to turn to God.
To go into the whole world and disciple people includes the entire process from start to finish. Be ready to do your part in the discipling process as God leads you today!
Father, I present to you myself as a living sacrifice; use me as you see fit. Help me to disciple someone today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
