The fifth step in our spiritual journey is to “expand” the kingdom of God

Expand
Disciple All Nations – Part 1

Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:16-20

Key Verse: Matthew 28:19

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

This week we will finish up our acrostic of P.E.A.C.E.  The last “E” represents the mission Jesus gave to His followers; Expand.  We are to expand the kingdom of God.  Jesus told us to go into all the world and make disciples.  We must not be selfish with the Good News that has redeemed us.  We must continue the Life Path until the end by making all efforts to invite others to take the journey with us!

To truly expand God’s kingdom it takes more than getting people to repeat a prayer of repentance.  Jesus didn’t tell us to go get conversions.  He challenges us to go “make disciples”!  When a person progresses from conversion into baptism and then on to learning all the teachings of Jesus, then the kingdom has been expanded!

The first place to start for each of us is to identify where we might be on the Life Path.  Are you pursuing facts?  Have you crossed over to faith and embraced Christ as your Savior?  Are you in the advancing stage where you are learning all the teachings of Jesus?  Have you come to the contributing stage where you are serving?  This final stage is where you give your best to help another person on their journey to God.  These stages may not have happened in this exact order, but are all critical for a person to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.  (Continued)

Father, I want to be used of you to expand your kingdom.  Grant me the words and the wisdom to help someone embrace your love.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
