Is everyone in the family is cooperating to the degree that everyone’s needs are being met?

Authentic Leaders Lead at Home
Cooperation

Scripture Reading: Acts 4:33-37

Key Verse: Acts 4:32

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.

It is an impressive picture: men coming together to accomplish a task that not one of them could accomplish on their own.  When you read the book of Acts that is what you see: cooperation among the believers.  In their culture, it was the men that led the way.  In this band of believers there were no needy people among them, according to verse 34.  To accomplish that, it took great cooperation among all that were a part of this group.

It seems like a great model for our homes and churches.  Wouldn’t it be great if in your home it could be said: “There are no needy people in your home”?  In other words, everyone in the family is cooperating to the degree that everyone’s needs are being met.  Men, as the leaders of your home, are you modeling this kind of cooperation?  As you consider the needs of every individual in your family, wouldn’t a little cooperation from all the family members be enough to meet each of those needs?

God accomplished a mighty movement in the world through this band of believers according to the stories in the book of Acts.  Doesn’t God still want to accomplish a great work in our world?  The Bible is clear: God starts these great works in the hearts of individuals and the homes they live in.  A key factor is cooperation; working together is better!

Father, grant me a spirit of cooperation in my home, place of work, and my church.  Accomplish great things—meet every need.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
