Are Biblical principles molding your leadership style?

Authentic Leaders Are Led
Who is Your Leader? – Part 2

Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:2-11

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 11:1

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Do you see yourself as a moldable person?  In other words, are you teachable?  I’m sure all of us want to say yes to those questions, but the Bible reminds us that the heart is deceitful above all else.  It is hard to see ourselves in the reality of who we really are.  I think we need to ask God to help us answer these questions about ourselves.  We need to ask the Holy Spirit to point out those moments when we were not as teachable as we thought we were.

Early on in my own learning process I got a hold of the saying: I don’t know what I don’t know.  In other words, I realized that when it came to some things in my life, I thought I knew all that needed to be known.  I was wrong!  I had to quickly become more open to God’s wisdom through other people around me.  I had to learn and be led so I could lead like Jesus.

The title of yesterday’s and today’s devotionals is: Who is Your Leader?  Take a few moments and think about the real answer to that question.  Are you really reading God’s Word and learning what it means to be like Jesus?  The world can be a far greater influence on us than it ought to be.  The Apostle Paul wrote: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2).  Read the Bible and be renewed!

Father, I open my mind to your influence—to your Word.  Help me to not conform to this world, but to the Jesus model!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
