It is not God’s plan to keep us sad and burdened. Cast your cares on Him and trust His plan.

Prayer Power

Scripture Reading:  Mark 11:22-25

Key Verse:  Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Jesus wanted His followers to pray as he prayed.  Jesus knew the importance of prayer for anyone wanting to win over the evil one!  Here in our scripture for today we read that our prayers are not to be a wish list for a Santa Claus in the sky.  We are to see prayer as a powerful weapon in the battle against the devil and all his tricks.

Jesus started this passage with: Trust.  Prayer—real prayer—starts with a deep trust on the part of the person praying!  We trust in God that He is our Father in heaven.  We trust that He invites us to talk to Him.  We trust in His deep compassion for us.  We trust in His mighty power to help us.  Prayer takes some discipline, but must never be seen as a discipline to be dutifully performed.  Prayer is a privilege of the children of God.  Prayer is our time to find strength from an unseen world to fight the battles formed in the unseen world.

Secondly, Jesus tells us to believe in our prayers.  We are to leave our prayer time rejoicing that we have been heard by our gracious heavenly Father.  If we have been heard, then we can know that we will receive the best answer possible!  God will always give us the best solution; the best wisdom for every problem we face!  Pray, trust and believe!

Father, thank you for inviting me to chat with you.  I know you hear me and will give me your answer, which will be the perfect answer.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
