God’s Covenant:
The Covenant of Strength
Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:10-13
Key Verse: Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
God’s covenant with us also has a clause in it about our ability to accomplish the tasks in life that seem too hard for us. All of us face tasks that put a dark cloud over our heads, tasks that just seem beyond our ability. Maybe you woke up today with a sense of dread, knowing you were facing such a task. If you have entered into God’s covenant, you have an answer for that sense of dread—a promise sealed by God’s covenant.
The Apostle Paul reveals this promise in our printed key verse: I can do all things! When you realize you have feelings of doubt about your own ability or a dread about some task, repeat this promise! This aspect of God’s covenant is short and easy to memorize: I can do everything!
This promise is not to make us egotistic about ourselves, but rather full of confidence about God. Paul wrote I can do everything through Him who gives me strength! I cannot do everything presented on my plate each day without the divine strength given to me as part of the covenant. This promise is not up for debate or conditional in any way. God has created this aspect for His children; those who have believed in His Son Jesus. The power of the covenant took away all our sins and replaced them with all the power of heaven available to you and me today!
Father, I walk into this day determined not to dread the tough tasks but to believe that your strength will be there for me! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
