You are God’s workmanships, stop picking on yourself its insulting to God.

The Divine in Our Design:
God’s Workmanship – Part 1

Scripture Reading:  Ephesians 2:4-9

Key Verse:  Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Can you remember a time when a friend wanted to show you something they had done or made?  You were glad to brag on them and the fine work they had accomplished.  Whether you were truly impressed or not, you knew your friend was proud of what their hard work had done and you wanted to support him or her.  Would you do the same for God?  Would you support His work and brag on God for His good work?

The Apostle Paul wrote that you are God’s workmanship!  Yet, you probably pick on yourself more than you brag on yourself.  Of course, I’m not talking about a carnal pride that brags on itself without giving glory to God.  I am talking about getting rid of the constant negative self-talk about yourself.  You are God’s workmanship!  God is working on you and won’t stop until you get to heaven.  We need to stop focusing all our attention on what is yet to be accomplished!  We need to praise God for the work He has done!  If you do, you will change some of the negative feelings that cause discouragement and depression.

Just because you are different than someone you admire doesn’t mean they are better or you are worse!  You are different; God made you that way!  God gave you feelings to feel; not deny.  If you have a lot of negative feelings, don’t get down on yourself.  Instead, ask God to help you with better thoughts!

Father, I am going to praise you for the work you’ve done in me.  Thank you for your plans for future work.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
