As a child of God how I feel about my problems is more critical than the problem.

The Divine in Our Design:
Feelings in the Fruit – Part 1

Scripture Reading:  Galatians 5:19-26

Key Verse: Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

As we start a new year, our greatest challenges are our feelings.  You may disagree with that statement because you are dealing with some serious issues, but stay with me in this series and you might see things from a different angle.  Of course, my whole premise is based on “being a Christ follower.”  If you have Jesus in your life, you have the very essence of God Himself flowing in you.  That fact, Jesus in me, is foundational to the entire month’s theme.

The second major factor in my premise is that we can enjoy life, in spite of our problems, if we are enjoying God’s deep settled peace.  If we are feeling calm—not stressed—when faced with tough issues, we have more energy to work on our issues.  If we have the feeling that all is going to be worked out for good, we sleep well and start each day rested.  How I feel about my problems is more critical than the actual problem!  That last sentence is only true for God’s faithful children.  People outside God’s family have lots of reasons to feel stressed out!  God’s children have no reason to worry about tomorrow!  Let’s be honest, most of us find that we do, indeed, worry about tomorrow!  I want you to join me this month to learn how futile that worry is and how insulting it is to our Father in heaven!

Father, my flesh wants to worry and stress.  My spirit is inspired to trust you and live in peace.  Help me stay in step with my spirit that you have given me.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
