Power of the Key Story:
The Making of Your Story – Part 2
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:1-7
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 1:4
…who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Concluding yesterday’s theme, we realize God is behind the making of our story. Our story is designed to bless others who are around us, now and in our future. The Apostle Paul references this in our scripture. Even in our painful experiences, God comforts us so that we can bring comfort to others. One of the most amazing purposes for our lives has little to do with us, but everything to do with others. God loves you. Praise His name! But God loves the people you’ll be around today just as much!
Going back to the idea of making a movie that we referred to yesterday, God is not only the author of the story, but the One who pulls all the characters together and “special effects” (circumstances) needed to make it all happen! Romans 8:28 reminds us that for God’s children, all things work together for good! This working together takes a mighty God, not happenchance.
Your pain has a purpose; trust the One who is writing your story! Your troubles have a purpose; don’t get discouraged by your present circumstances. Our successes have a purpose; don’t allow pride to claim them as your own! If you are a Christ follower, your life, indeed, is purpose driven! The movie is being made about your life even as you read these words!
Father, all I can do is fall before you with words and songs of thanksgiving. I bless you for caring so deeply about me and all those I will have contact with in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
