Power of the Key Story:
The Making of Your Story – Part 1
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:1-7
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 1:4
…who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
As we close out our series, I would like to spend the last two days talking about how a story is made. It is not hard for us to visualize the making of a movie. We know that the first segment must be a very creative mind writing the storyline. After the plot of the story has been decided, there comes the selection of the different actors that will be needed. Finally, there is the huge job of creating all the props and special effects needed to unfold the final presentation of that movie.
I don’t think that is a bad illustration for us to use to get our minds wrapped around God’s great purpose for our life story. God is the great creative mind that sees our story before it ever happens. Psalm 139 reminds us: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” In the womb God knits the final product. He is well aware of all our good decisions and bad ones that will touch our lives. God sees these things and considers them as He forms the story of our lives. Remember His foreknowledge is not the same as predestination. Our free moral choice remains intact as God foresees our choices and navigates it all to form His plans. It is a mind boggling fact—too wonderful for us to totally understand, our God is the creative author of our story!
Father, I fall before you as Creator of the universe and the God who deems to create a story for my life. Bring glory to your name through me. I ask in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
