Power of the Key Story:
Be Prepared – Part 1
Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 3:9-17
Key Verse: 1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect
For Christ followers December represents the story of salvation. This story has been burned into our minds and hearts. God so loved the world that He gave His only son. His son came as a baby in a little town of Bethlehem. The angels proclaimed it with songs of praise. The wise men came to present gifts to this divine child of prophecy. This story is as powerful today as it was the first day we heard it.
Stories stick in our minds and memories. The power of a story is seen in our society with classic Christmas stories that have been repeated for years. Some stories become family traditions to be seen or heard before the opening of packages at Christmas. Stories touch our imagination and relate to parts of our lives. Telling a story is a powerful tool in communicating to anyone.
All of us have a story. You may not think your story is very exciting or dramatic but others will differ with that conclusion. Your story will relate to other people who may have lived similar circumstances or had the same struggles that you’ve had. Your story can be used of God. He wants to take all that was meant for bad and turn it into something good for His use. Are you willing to let your story be used?
Father, you have transformed my life. If you can use my story then I will tell it. Bring glory to your name in my story. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
